I use older hardware:

Mobo:         Generic HP socket 939...thing
CPU:           AMD Athlon 64 3800+ x2 (two cores at 2.0ghz each)
GPU:           BFG NVidia 8800GTS 320MB
Mem:          2GB DDR400 PC3200
Sound Card: AC '97 or SoundBlaster Augidy 4 (forgot which).
Speakers:    Generic Gateway things.
PSU:            Antec EarthWatts 500w.
Tower:          Generic HP thing.
Keyboard:    Generic HP thing.
Mouse:        Simple Logitech USB optical mouse.
Monitor:       HP vs17e 17" LCD (1280x1024)

My other computers vary from Celerons @ 1.2ghz (dataserver) to Pentium 4s at 2.6ghz with an nVidia FX5500 (other gaming computer)

I bought a new video card recently:

A few interesting notes:

- The 2500K still performs reasonably well,
- It seems all my Samsung hardware mysteriously dies after 3 years of use. iiyama makes better monitors anyway.
- I switched to cheap mice after using expensive gaming mice for many years. They last much longer, for a fraction of the price.
- Server is still the same as in 2011, although I replaced the videocard with a fanless GeForce GT 610.
- Both the desktop and the server have a Scythe Mugen cooler. I love those heatsinks
